Unfold & Go with Fold Flops - A Review

When I was younger, I used to go dancing with my friends in cute heels which by the end of the night I would trade those in for some flip flops. It was always a nuisance to carry them because my bag would always be a small one so they would never fit. When MomSpark Media had an opportunity to do a review for Fold Flops I was so thrilled. I have to believe that the inventor was a club goer in New York too.
These are an ingenious idea. Flip flops that can fold in half, and fit into your purse. They come with a cute little bag and rubber straps. I received a black size 9 pair to review.

I was surprised that they were actually comfortable to wear for a long period. They have a slight cushion which standard flip flops don't. The plastic straps didn't rub against my toes or burn my feet. I forgot I even had them on while doing errands. I recommend using these for those trips to the nail salon, gym/spa or to the night club!
Fold flops come in 5 different colors and they are even available for men in 2! They retail for $20. You can like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter for more information. These will definitely make a cute Christmas gift for all your girlfriends.

This review was made possible by Mom Spark Media.  I received a pair of Foldflops to facilitate my review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Wat-aah!! Challenge

My son is a big milk & juice drinker. At his last doctor appointment, his doctor suggested that he needs to drink more water. So with this in mind, I decided to place mini Wat-aah bottles in the fridge to see what he would choose to pack in his snack bag for school.  I placed both Brain & Body bottles in there.
I think saying the name and label most appealed to my son. He just screamed Wat-aah!! all morning. He enjoyed it and even packed one for soccer in the weekend. At least now I can get him to enjoy water more and its an option he wants.
As for the challenge, Wat-aah has kicked juice and milk's butt big time.
Like Wat-aah on Facebook & take the challenge!

Keri Lotion Review & a Giveaway CLOSED

The cold days are quickly approaching us as Mother Nature brought a surprise fall snow storm today. With that in mind, I have to prepare myself to extra moisturize my skin as it tends to be drier in this cold. Thanks to Family Review Network, I was given the opportunity to review Keri Shea Butter lotion.
Growing up I remember my grandparents would always use Keri. It was a simple white bottle with blue letters, a very generic look. That was their staple lotion. I wasn't surprised to find out that Keri has been recognized for over 50 years for keeping skin moisturized. They have a variety for your hands & body depending on what your skin type may be.
You can use the chart to see which type of Keri would be suitable for your skin. I tried the Shea Butter because my I like a lotion that I know will continuously condition my skin throughout the day. I don't tend to like lotions with a scent. This lotion provided all that and more. There was a bit of a shine to it when applied so I wouldn't recommend using it on your face. I have an oily t zone so I knew it would just be too much. For the body & hands, it was perfect. My skin felt soft, and didn't have a flaky look to it. My husband used it & he hasn't complained of the dry skin that he usually gets during this season as well.
Keri lotion is available at Walmart, RiteAid, Drugstore.com and other national retailers.  To learn more about the line of Keri lotion products, please visit the website at http://www.kerilotion.com// for special offers. There is currently a $2 coupon that you can use for your next purchase.

One lucky reader will get to try their own full size bottle of Keri Shea Butter lotion. (ARV $5.99-$7.99)

Marzetti Caramel dips are such a fall staple in our household. When I was given the opportunity to do this review, I immediately couldn't help but think of caramel apples. My son is a big fan of apples so we immediately used the dips for our slices. I also tried the dip with fresh pineapples & it was to die for! The sweet mix was delish. I can't wait to try this for my guests at my upcoming get together.
The wonderful people at Marzetti has given me 2 coupons (ARV $3.99) to give away. I will choose 2 separate winners. You may use the coupon to purchase any variety of Marzetti dips.

Natural House Review & Giveaway CLOSED

There's a new line of fighters that aid in cleaning the most dirtiest areas of your house by Natural House
Trashy, Sinky & Flushy
They are each a natural household cleaning product that uses probiotics from plant enzymes. They offer a safe, non toxic way of cleaning your house that is safe & non harmful for every member of your family. Here is a diagram that shows what probiotics are.
Flushy:
My son insisted on helping me clean. I normally don't like him around because of the harsh chemical smells. I opened the package, and tossed it into the toilet bowl. It quickly started foaming in this bright blue color and the smell was actually refreshing. My son said it reminded him of the beach. We had fun scrubbing the bowl and I wasn't nervous having him around it.
Sinky:
We don't have a garbage disposal and our sink is pretty old. Living in an apartment building in New York city, our pipes do have a tendency for slow draining. I tossed the packet into our sick. I didn't smell anything or noticed any immediate results. However, after a few days I did notice we didn't have a problem with slow drainage as usual. The water flowed easier.
Trashy:
This spray reminded me of the woods. I used it every time we threw our trash out. It did help eliminate odors from everyday garbage especially fish smells.
Take a look at this cute video that explains why you should change from using harsh chemicals to the Natural House way
Flushy, Sinky and Trashy are available for purchase at the Natural House website and/or Amazon.
For one lucky winner, you can win a 30 day supply (ARV $15)

Wholesale Halloween Costumes Review

I don't know about your child, but my son was thinking about Halloween since the summer. He knew he was going to be Bumblebee from Transformers but since we have a few events to attend I figured I would get him another costume. That just made his day! Luckily I was offered an opportunity to review an online Halloween website. Wholesale Halloween Costumes has a large variety of boys costumes at low prices. My son browsed the selection and selected Spider Monkey from Cartoon Network's Ben 10. We were ecstatic that his size was available. We placed our order and received the costume the next business day since we live in the metro NYC area. They offer a flat rate shipping cost for both standard & expedited delivery.
My son's costume came carefully packaged. Of course he had to try it on as soon as we opened it the box. It was a great fit. I ordered a medium (7-8) for him. He's tall for an average 5 year old so I was happy that this costume was long in length in the arms & legs.
Spider Monkey
The extra pair of arms are attachable by velcro. They weren't very secure so I will stitch them because I know if they keep separating my son will go crazy. lol

There is an attachable tail as well that I will have to stitch.
Overall I am very pleased with our purchase. My son is happy he's going to be Spider Monkey and I'm happy that we were able to receive it in time for our upcoming events.
If you're still on the search for boys costumes I definitely suggest this company. Your child will have no problem finding his favorite super hero or cartoon character. You'll be happy that it won't hurt your pocket as much and you won't have to deal with the crowded stores at this time.
Happy Halloween!

Dreamworks Real Steel Review & Giveaway CLOSED

Real Steel stars Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, Lily Evangeline and some powerful robots. I should've had you at Hugh Jackman, but if that didn't entice you to go see this movie, then the action and heartfelt story should.
Set in the near future, Real Steel is about a down & out boxer (Jackman) that gets his last shot at a comeback by teaming up with his estranged son (Goyo). His son convinces him that a run down sparring robot can be trained to compete in a title robotic boxing competition. Along the way, the relationship is developed between the two. Its a beautiful story between father & son.
I teared up during the movie. Dakota Goyo was amazing as a young boy who just wants to have his father in his life. Hugh Jackman is well awesome as usual. I suggest you take the family to the theaters this weekend and catch this great film.
Dreamworks has given one lucky reader a chance to win a Real Steel prize pack which includes:

  • An adult sized t shirt S, M, L or XL

  • A bottle opener

  • Real Steel tattoos and stickers
Mandatory Entry: (please leave your email address after every comment)

Cassandra's Angel - CLOSED

This past weekend, my son & I were invited to the Brooklyn Children's Museum for the launch of Change My World Now 20 city/20 week musical tour.  Cassandra's Angel is a modern day fairy tale that teaches young children how to use their strengths to empower and make a change in the world. We were shown a live musical performance of the story. The singing was so beautiful. Each member had such a powerful voice. My son and I loved it. The music was so engaging that my son's favorite song is Too Bad. We listened to the cd on our car ride home. The tour is heading along the East coast and stretching over to the West coast. If you have an opportunity to meet author Gina Otto and see the live performance I highly suggest it. You will leave singing and feeling renewed. Its a great story for your young children to hear and adults too. Sometimes you forget that there is a light with in yourself that needs to shine despite what others may think. We all have a powerful voice in this world. It is up to us to use that voice and make a change.

We loved the book so much that I have an autographed copy to give away to one lucky reader!

"Let's Move" with the Bernstein Bears

As part of First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign I took a healthy lifestyle pledge and was given 2 tickets to see the Bernstein Bears LIVE with my son.
The families that attended this special event, promised to take the initiative in their children's lives and lead healthier lifestyles. Childhood obesity rates have tripled over the past 3 decades. With this campaign, I have decided that I will walk with my son rather than take the bus on a sunny day. I will serve him vegetables or fruits rather than artificial sweetened snacks.
We were provided with healthy foods such as turkey on whole wheat sandwiches, hummus, fresh fruits, vegetables, yogurt and water by Fairway Markets. Then we were treated with a special performance of the Bernstein Bears. The show was a great musical. It's lesson of eating healthy went along with the "Let's Move" campaign. Everyone enjoyed the show.

I am excited about this pledge for my family. My son already has great eating habits, but this just ensures that I have promised to lead him on the right path to a healthy future.

Thank you NY Metro Parents, Fairway,Bernstein Bears LIVE, and Manhattan Movement & Arts Center for a great afternoon.
